This collection brings together works created on Arches oil paper using oil and cold wax. Created at different times, the paintings share layered surfaces, visible process, and the unique qualities of paper as a substrate. The taped edges create a white border around the image area, while thinner applications of paint allow subtle shifts in color, line, and texture to emerge. The deckled edge of the paper is often left visible when framed. Click on an image for a larger view and use the arrows to move through them.
